Soap Film Solids
Place a few elliptic end caps in 3D space and let a smooth skin span between them, the way a soap film would stretch across a wire frame. The result is an organic solid with flat mounting faces, exported as a watertight STL for 3D printing.
- Each ellipse is a flat end face of the solid: position, tilt and radii are freely adjustable.
- The skin through the ellipses minimises a curvature energy, giving soap-film-like waists between the caps.
- A tension control trades bulgy transitions against tightly cinched ones.
- Everything runs locally in your browser, nothing is uploaded.
