Vowel Map

Sing or speak into the microphone and watch your voice move through the vowel chart. The first two formants are estimated live by linear prediction, so the point wanders towards ee, drops towards ah and swings back towards oo as your tongue and lips move.

• Live F1/F2 tracking with a fading trail, over reference vowels for German or English.
• Calibration on your own corner vowels, which makes two singers comparable despite different vocal tract lengths.
• Vowel snapshots with spread, a pinned target vowel and a live distance readout for choir vowel blending.
• Honest about its limits: the reliability of the estimate is shown against your fundamental frequency, because high voices undersample the spectral envelope.
